We have commitments for $400,000 toward the budget of the film; we are seeking additional investors to fund the second half, which would allow us to green light the project. Production commences November, 2025 in and around Richmond, VA.
Atlee, a rather clumsy domestic terrorist, manages to kill himself before he can claim his winning lottery ticket. The ticket is found by Home Depot cashier Glenda, whose deep Christian faith prevents her from cashing in - until Atlee’s twin brother Aaron comes looking for the ticket, along with a crew of eccentric characters from a small southern town with very dubious ethics.
Themes: greed, faith, redemption. The screenplay has won numerous awards; notably scoring an 8 on the Blacklist - TOP 4%. The Cashier is a dark comedy with a faith-adjacent message, delivered in an authentic way. National US distributor, Neon, has expressed interest in distributing the film.
Tax Credits: The film will be eligible for the Virginia state film incentive. Project sponsors will have access to federal renewable tax credits at a discount as well as potential future earnings.
